Children in Need!

Today was Children in Need day and this year children kindly donated money to this wonderful charity and came to school wearing something sports or spotty (or both!). We would like to say a huge thank you to our families for your kind donations.

Mr Morgan’s class worked together to complete this giant Pudsey colouring jigsaw. Fantastic team work kids!

Y4 Master Cryuff Turns!

Year 4 have continued to advance their footballing skills. This week they practiced keeping possession and evading opponents by turning. They practiced two different techniques the first being the drag back.

However, they were excited to try the Cryuff turn named after the Dutch footballer Johan Cryuff! How do you think we did!? Have a look at the videos below!

Y4 Egyptian WOW Day!

Year 4 had and excellent end to their half term today taking part in our Ancient Egyptian Wow day! The children all came dressed up in their finest Egyptian clothing for a fun day of learning about Ancient Egypt.

Children made replicas of Tutunkhamun’s death mask, Egyptian jewellery, learned about the process of mummification, virtually explored Tutunkhamun’s tomb and learned how to scale up ancient illustrations of Egyptian Gods! We had a fantastic time and we are very proud of how hard you have worked this year so far – keep it up!

A super effort from all Y4, well done!

Coding Masterclass!

Year 4 are having a great time during their coding computing unit! We have been revisiting some of the Y3 work as part of a ‘crash course’ to catch up on any missed skills before attempting more complicated work. Today they were animating their own Egyptian scene working on coding collision events.

Can you predict what will happen in this animation?

Minecraft Update!

During the lockdown partial opening, we finally found time to crack on with our Minecraft ‘Build the School’ project! Here is an update video – it’s looking fantastic, well done children!

HAS Girl’s 7-aside qualifiers

This evening our girls football got underway with the Hull Active Schools 7-aside qualifying event. This was the first game for many of our new team members but they did not disappoint! The girls played with a real smile on their faces and came away with 2 wins and a draw!

Another special addition to the team this year was our new coach! Emily was our football captain last year and has come back this year to coach our girls in their games. Thank you so much Emily, your a real inspiration and we are very proud of you!

Well done girls!
