Learning our numbers

In Miss Mead’s class today, we learnt how to say 1-10 in Spanish. We had so much fun using Language Angels to expand our modern foreign language knowledge!

We even performed our Spanish to the rest of the class.

Year 5 Clarinet ‘No Problem’

Year 5 have been working really hard in music today and have been learning how to play the song ‘No problem’. The focus on the song was using the correct form and note playing of the note G making sure to hold the note for the correct length of time.

Thank You Your Majesty

The children in Year 6 have spent the day learning all about Queen Elizabeth II. We have completed lots of different activities and have learned all about her fantastic achievements and key moments in her life.

Did you know?

The Queen did not have to have a passport to travel or a license to drive a car.

The Queen had 2 birthdays – her actual birthday and her official birthday

The Queen owned her first house at age 6 – a straw thatched cottage in the grounds of the Windsor Royal Lodge.

Sports Scholarship: Tennis

Today was the last sports scholarship session of the year and we finished another fantastic year off with a trip to some tennis courts! These outdoor, resin courts are full size and of a very high standard. We spent the afternoon applying out tennis skills in a mini-tournament. We also looked at umpiring and also being ball retrievers. Well done children.

These two trophies are in addition to and FA Cup and 5-adide trophies already won the year! A huge well done boys.

Heartbreak in the Y5 finals!

Tonight it was the turn of our year 5 boys to attend the Hull Active Schools five aside finals. The boys cruised through the early rounds and were gaining confidence. A solid performance in the semifinal saw them head into the final game looking very comfortable. However, a very unlucky start saw them concede twice and the boys could not recover from that point. Gillshill Primary controlled the game well and saw the clock out. It was a tough way to end the competition after playing so well in this round and the previous qualifiers, but credit to the Gillshill boys who were the better team when it counted the most.

This still means our boys finished second in Hull and we are very proud of this achievement! Better luck next year in he Y6 comp, boys.

Y5 five aside: (L-R) Ewan D, Charnley B, Ashton R, Tinashe G, Harrie G & Jack S.

They boys played incredibly well, keeping their composure and finishing goals in a clinical performance. Well done boys, another trophy to add to the collection!
