In F1 we talked about Guy Fawkes and why we celebrate Bonfire Night. We also tried some traditional bonfire night food. We made our own sparklers, where we dipped our chocolate fingers in warm water to melt the chocolate and then covered them in sprinkles. We talked about how the chocolate melted. We did some fabulous blow paint firework pictures, which are now on display in our classroom. We also made some tasty treats in our mud kitchen food stall. Click on the link below to see our photos.

We have been learning about the number 3 this week.
First we played hide and seek with the number 3 numicon. Mrs Wilkinson hid 3 pieces of number 3 numicon around the garden. We had to count to 20 and then we could go and find it.

Then we took it in turns to hide it and find it.
After we were worn out from running around the garden, we used the chalks to write number 3 and drew around the large number 3 numicon.
Can you see the towers we made? 3 towers with 3 blocks.
Finally, we went to find 3 leaves from around the garden to give to Mrs Wilkinson.
These activities helped us with our gross motor skills – running around in a controlled way and not bumping into our friends, and building towers.
As well as our fine motor skills – drawing and writing the number 3.
They also help us with our maths skills – counting when we were playing hide and seek, identifying the number 3 and using it practically.
But most of all, our social and communication skills – taking turns, working as a team, helping each other have fun and discussing everything we were doing.
We had lots of fun, playing and learning. Great Job FS
F1 had lots of fun helping to pick our carrots that we have been growing in our vegetable patch!

This week we have had such good fun finding new ways to balance. We have used our balancing bikes and found new skills which have helped us move around safely.

We have used all our special equipment that we have in our amazing outdoor area to help us balance on our own.

We also had fun in the Sensory garden doing a sensory circuit. We all took it in turns to balance on our stomach and try and make it to the other side.We then had to stand up without falling and jump off the other end into a hoop.It was lots of fun. We also got the scooters out and enjoyed those too.

We found lots of exciting ways to balance this week and had lots of fun doing it.
Happy Half term to all of our F1 families.

FS2 enjoyed the beautiful Autumn sunshine today 🍂🍁🍂

We took all the leaves outside that we had collected on our way to school this week and threw them into the air!
It was so much fun and it made us all smile…

…and then we collected them all back up and did it all again!

We drummed an Autumn beat, made up an Autumn dance and enjoyed designing our own gingerbread men from our story this term… we love Autumn!

Another great week in F2. Click on the link below to find out what we’ve been up to…
What an amazing week we have had in the Hub. We have done lots of different activities and lots of physical team work. We loved reading ” Ted falls out of bed” and learning all the different nouns.
We also got our certificates which made us so proud.
Outside we enjoyed the balancing bikes and learning how to balance on them.We also enjoyed playing with the foam and talking about all the different textures. We wrote letters and made lots of different patterns using our fingers.
We managed to do good sitting ,good listening and good looking and got an amazing treat .We iced gingerbread men and then we enjoyed eating them afterwards. It was a very exciting time in the hub this week and we really enjoyed it.
The children have been exploring Autumn this week. We have been talking about the changes that happen when the season starts. We listened to ‘Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn’ by Kenard Pak and talked about the story.

The children have made some beautiful leaf print pictures and created fabulous collages using Autumn colours.

The have also been drawing Autumn trees and pumpkins in the garden.

The children loved exploring the textures of the slimy pumpkin and the crunchy leaves.

We have also been learning what the words hibernation and migration mean.
I wonder what other signs of Autumn you might see when you’re out and about.
