Sensory Garden – Funky Friday Fun

This week in our Sensory Garden, we have enjoyed Early Talk Boost , Stories for Taking and most of all, we all loved our Friendship group… especially hiding under the Lycra!

Friday was extra special as we had a fun activity day for having a fabulous week!

FS Dance

The children had a brilliant dance lesson. They have been using the new dance equipment to help them move more enthusiastically. We imagined we were different types of weather and the children came up with their own movements to express how they thought it moved. Can you tell which type of weather we are thinking about in the photos? We moved like the rain, wind, snow, storms, and even a tornado.  When moving like snow the children moved slowly and calmly. When moving like a storm the children planted their feet firmly so they didn’t blow away and waved their arms rapidly.

A great dance lesson boys and girls. Well done

Wet Chalk Artwork

This week, F2 have been making the most of the wet weather

by experimenting with chalk.

We loved how the colours mixed together when we added more water…

… and we saw how the colours looked brighter when they were wet.

The texture became thick and tacky when we used a brush on the wet chalk…

…and we noticed how wet and dry chalk just looked different,

but most of all, we enjoyed making our own fabulous artwork creations.

F2 Forest School

F2 enjoyed another Forest School session of mud painting today.

Collecting leaves and herbs and sticking them to our sticks can be a tricky, we had to really concentrate and with a little bit of help we all made terrific mud brushes.

Mixing mud and adding magic colour is fun… the children were amazed at the beautiful colours we made today.

We used our brushes and mud paint to make these fabulous creations!

What do you think of them?

Muddy Puddle Walk

Great pencil control!

Today we had a go at drawing the characters that the gingerbread man met on his adventures.  Layla’s pictures were astounding!  I’m sure you’ll all agree.  A great artist in the making.  Well done.
