This week in F2!

This week in F2 has been a very busy week!

In Literacy, we have been retelling the story of Oliver’s Vegetables through story mapping. We also looked at a set of instructions for making a vegetable soup. In small groups, we took it in turns peeling and chopping some vegetables from our story to make and taste our very own soup! After following a recipe to make our own soup, we then wrote our own instructions the following day to show others how to make it.

On Tuesday we performed our Easter Bonnet Parade to the whole school in the morning and then to parents/carers in the afternoon. The dancing was absolutely amazing and the children decorated some wonderful Easter Bonnets. We had so much fun!

On Wednesday, we got creative and made our own Easter cards for someone special to us. The children thoroughly enjoyed this.

The children arrived in colourful, crazy socks on Thursday to raise awareness for World Down Syndrome Day. The children attended an assembly surrounding the topic to get a better understanding and really enjoyed learning about it.

Finally, Friday was the last day before the Easter Half Term. We watched a lovely Easter Service by Years 3/4 and had fun hunting for Easter eggs!

Choir concert

The choir concert this afternoon was a great hit. The children have worked so hard on learning all of the songs. The musicians also performed amazingly. It was lovely to see all of the parents in the hall watching and we all feel very much in the spirit of Christmas now. Well done to all the pupils who took part.

Nativity

All of the staff were so proud of the children who took part in the Nativity this year. They worked really hard to learn their lines, sing the songs and come on and off the stage the right times. The children also learnt more about the story of the first Christmas and what Christians believe happened at that time.

Here are some of the photos we got of the children.

The Hub

This week the children have been investigating our new pet house box. They have been hiding inside with all their animals. All the children loved getting inside and climbing on the top. Mrs Rowbottom got inside and Kojeen fed her through the holes with his toys.

The children have enjoyed playing in the Hub this week. All the bricks were put into colours and the boys made a huge wall . The Pop up Pirates game made us all jump when we won as we all took it in turns to play. We all did great sharing.

What a lovely happy week we all have had sharing ,caring and turn taking.

The Hub

So lovely to see Connor trying new things and engaging in all our toys and activities.

He came in this morning full of smiles and went over to the garage, Connor then used his choice board to ask for his car.
