Wet Chalk Artwork

This week, F2 have been making the most of the wet weather

by experimenting with chalk.

We loved how the colours mixed together when we added more water…

… and we saw how the colours looked brighter when they were wet.

The texture became thick and tacky when we used a brush on the wet chalk…

…and we noticed how wet and dry chalk just looked different,

but most of all, we enjoyed making our own fabulous artwork creations.

F2 Forest School

F2 enjoyed another Forest School session of mud painting today.

Collecting leaves and herbs and sticking them to our sticks can be a tricky, we had to really concentrate and with a little bit of help we all made terrific mud brushes.

Mixing mud and adding magic colour is fun… the children were amazed at the beautiful colours we made today.

We used our brushes and mud paint to make these fabulous creations!

What do you think of them?

F2 Forest School

Today F2 enjoyed their first Forest School activity … Mud Painting!

First we collected mud, leaves and sticks

…we had a sniff of the Rosemary, it smelt beautiful

…next we made our paint brushes

…after that we mixed the mud with washing up liquid, water and brusho.

We made some lovely colours

…then we got to work painting

…look at our wonderful creations!

…finally, we pegged them up to dry.

We all had a fabulous time 🌿🍂🍃🍁

Ordering, measuring, 1 more…

FS2 have enjoyed exploring our Maths Area this week.

Blake helped to sort the multi link cubes ready to make Christmas trees and snowflakes, then he had a go at making one…he counted the cubes carefully and even measured it to check it was right.

Jaidon found the number 10 and knew which number was 1 more all the way up to 29!

Evie and Fraya-Rae took turns at measuring each other to find out who was the tallest and DJ ordered the Numicon tiles to 10…

…super work from everyone!

Troll faces

Look at our scary troll faces!

We have been thinking this week about words we can use to describe the troll… mean, ugly, angry, scary, frightening, smelly, wrinkly…

Can you think of any more?

This half-term we have been investigating Shape, Space and Measure.

We have learnt lots of new mathematical words, such as height, weight, capacity, heavy, light, balance, long, short, full and empty.

We have also carried out lots of experiments to test our knowledge, thinking carefully about why things happen and we have made some good estimations…exploring SSM was fun!

Gold Book Superstars!

We are so proud of Jamelia and Chloe for being in the Gold Book.

Jamelia for fabulous progress made in Phonics and Chloe for having a super attitude to all areas of learning.

Keep up the good work girls.

A big thank you!
