We were amazing at ‘Bear-pees’ for this years Children in Need challenge!
We enjoyed being creative, making small clay Diya lamps to celebrate Diwali!
We wrote some beautiful and thoughtful poetry in English this week to reflect upon the bravery of others during Remembrance week.
This week we learned about the tradition of pumpkin carving, how pumpkins grew and had a go at designing our own Halloween pumpkin! We created collages and made decorations for the schools Halloween Disco which was spooktacular!
We had a great time this afternoon at the Humber Bridge Viewing area.
We sketched the bridge…
We learned about it being a suspension bridge and talked about how it was built. George was able to tell us all about the buoys in the river and how they prevent the boats from being stuck in the shallow, sandy waters.
We learned about the brave rescue team that use lifeboats based below the Humber Bridge to rescue anyone in trouble in the river.
We found Banksy Style art beside Humber Rescue too!
And of course, we couldn’t leave before we had fun with our friends in the park! Especially after all of our hard work this term!
Our teacher is really proud of the work that we have done this week. Each day we have progressively learnt the skills needed to punctate dialogue and today we have applied these to our wonderful retelling of the story Not Now, Bernard. Mrs Hebden thinks that our are waayyyyyyy better than the original.
We were exploring factors of a number using counters, making arrays to see what the factors of a given number were.
We worked carefully with our partners and had lots of great mathematical discussion about our work.
We are working really, really hard in our maths lesson and continue to impress our teachers on a daily basis with the work that we are achieving! Today we were looking at factors…
Brandon rose to the challenge and was able to work out that the numbers 1,3, 5 and 9 are all factors of 90! We were super impressed with the 5×18 calculation! Keep up the amazing work boys!
Our Scientists enjoyed this afternoons practical lesson, exploring how light travels. We examined what happened to the ray of light when it passed through a prism and conducted an experiment with cards, predicting when the light would be able to pass through.
