We used our nose, mouth, hands, ears and eyes to work out what was in the senses boxes.
We had lots of fun trying to work out what we could see, smell, hear, touch and taste.
We wrote down our responses and compared notes with each other.
We worked incredibly hard all afternoon and had great fun!!
In Year 2 as artists we have been drawing, colouring and painting some of our circus friends. Today we made some wonderful clowns. We sketched a clowns face and once we were happy we outlined our drawing in black then we used oil pastels, coloured pens and paints to colour in our clowns. Haven’t we done a fabulous job?
Children from different year groups have been working hard to create a fabulous hoarding panel that will be used whilst building work takes place during construction of the new foot-bridge over Clive Sullivan Way. Look at the link below to see how they did it…
We had a fabulous week this week celebrating World Book Day. We came to school dressed as our favourite book character!
There were some amazing costumes!
The theme for World Book Day this year was ‘Share a Story’ so our day including several different storytelling sessions. During assembly with Miss Stathers, the whole school did a choral rehearsal of ‘The Three Little Pigs’ using sounds instead of words!
In the afternoon, we split into our houses to share a story. The teachers in each house read their favourite stories and then the children found a buddy to share a story with.
The older children were fantastic with the younger children.
We had a brilliant day and can’t wait for next year!
Yesterday, we learned how to share objects equally. We worked in teams to share different objects into groups of two. We then counted how many objects were in each group.
After practising sharing objects using concrete manipulatives, we were then able to share pictorially.
This week the children in Year 1 have worked extremely hard in their English lessons.
They have been engaging in lots of activities based on the story Lost and Found such as; describing a Polar Explorer, sequencing the story and changing parts of story!
They have finished the week off by engaging in their Hot Writes and have produced some FANTASTIC pieces of work!
