Y6 Outdoor Adventure at Country Park

This afternoon, a group of children went to Country Park, Hessle, to explore the idea of classes going for an afternoon of outdoor and adventurous PE. The children had a fantastic time building shelters, scrambling slopes, throwing stones, balancing on logs and reading maps. Hopefully more children will be able to have a go soon!

Wednesday 5th October

Tonight our children had their second rugby tournament of the week! This time they were playing tag rugby union as part of our fantastic partnership with Tigers Trust. Four other schools (Cavendish, Spring Cottage and Sidmouth) attended this competition at Hull RFU’s ground on Chanterlands Avenue.

Having not played many competitive fixtures, this week has been a real learning curve for our children. After defending well and working hard on movement and attacking on Monday, real progress could be seen at tonights tournament by the number of tries scored. Although CP only drew one game and lost the others, our children were incredibly supportive of each other and worked hard to improve, have fun and make the most of the evening!

A very good team from Cavendish eventually won the competition with excellent sportsmanship and supportive attitudes shown by all children. A special mention to Mariah Palmer who worked very hard this evening and came very close to scoring a try on numerous occasions.

The evening was wrapped up with a presentation and a superb buffet and drinks!

Thank you parents for your support and well done again to the children involved.
