The Hub

So lovely to see Connor trying new things and engaging in all our toys and activities.

He came in this morning full of smiles and went over to the garage, Connor then used his choice board to ask for his car.

F1 in the snow

Those children who braved the cold had great fun exploring the snow; snowballs, fun and footprints!

The snow felt so cold on our hands.

Ivy spotted the patterns our boots made.  Violet thought hers was like a maze.

The Hub

Today was such an exciting day. Noah has been very shy and has hesitated when  playing or interacting with his peers even with adult support.

This morning he watched Tyler get the cars and drop them down the track.  He then let go of my hand and went over to the side and got himself the other track. Tyler then handed Noah a car and he copied what Tyler was role modelling.

He was so happy and excited. What a fabulous thing to see…so happy Noah is enjoying the Hub and is now joining in.

We’re Going On A Bear Hunt

We just loved We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.  So many of the children could retell the story, using actions, and kept chanting parts of the story as they played.

We ended up going exploring out on the field to see what we can find.

There was lots of grass so we made lots of ‘swishy, swashy’ footsteps.

We found a forest and we had to be careful not to stumble and trip!

We pretended the tyres were the thick, oozey mud.

Unlike the story, we got caught in a real BEAR TRAP!

Eventually, we found the bear’s cave.  Poppy saw 1 wet shiny nose!

Which meant we had to rush all the way back home through all the obstacles!

We’re never going on a Bear Hunt again!

The Festival of ‘Holi’!

Holi

What a day F2 have had celebrating the exciting and fun festival of Holi in religious studies!

Today our children all came to school wearing brightly coloured clothes ready to celebrate the festival of colour!

We have been discussing the traditional Hindu festival all week and the events that take place during this time of celebration. We spoke about the celebration welcoming in the beginnings of Spring and saying goodbye to the end of Winter. We talked about what the celebration meant to some people and how the festival symbolled new life, beginnings, love and hope!

We looked at where some people went to worship during this festival time and how some people celebrated with parties, paint throwing and dancing!

In the afternoon we had our very own paint throwing celebration! We created Rangoli patterns with Chalk, danced to some traditional Hindu music and raced our very own colour run across the field, flying our colourful flags and musical instruments! The afternoon was full of music, dance, creativity and merriment and the children definitely enjoyed experiencing this festival, labelling it their ‘favourite day at school’ to date!!!

F1 write secret messages

F1 have been busy writing secret messages today.  It’s got everyone happily mark making and thinking about what happened in our story, Click Clack Moo, Cows that Write!

First of all we wrote our message with white crayon on white paper.

Then we carefully painted over the top to reveal the messages we had written.

Ivy N read her writing, “It says, can I please have ‘a’ electric blanket?”

Reuben told us, “I wrote all the things that were special.  All the special letters.”

Isla-Grey said, “I’ve sent a special message, look at mine.  It says, please help.  I am cold.  I would like a ‘rel-ectric’ blanket.”

Alex had different ideas, he asked, “Please can we  have some milk and eggs?”

What super writing!

Interventions

The children have been having so much fun during our Friendship groups. They can all share and turn take with each other. They love to catch the frog and they enjoy it when we play look who is different.

Our other groups are also so exciting as we can choose a game and play it with our friends. We can also pretend to be the teacher and ask the teacher to follow our instructions.

Lots of fun and lots of learning.
