Year 5 Clarinet –

Today we were able to learn how to put together the clarinet together. This is vital for our lessons and the more we practice the quicker we will become at setting up our equipment.

Year 5 Bikeability

Over the course of this week, Year 5 have been participating in completing their Bikeability cycling proficiency training. They have worked really hard to improve their knowledge about road safety and how to accurately ride a bike on the road (including safe signaling). All week the children have worked exceptionally well and many of them have completed their level 2 Bikeability course with a few select children being chosen for further level 3 training later in the year due to their excellence! Well done Year 5!

Year 5 Counter Balance and Counter Tension

Over the course of this half term, Year 5 have really impressed us with their knowledge on how to create counter balances and counter tension poses. They have been able to create a routine incorporating these skills alongside using techniques such a cannoning, matching, mirroring and the different use of levels and apparatus. Well done Year 5!

In today’s lesson we used a range of different sources to look at how and where different faiths and worldviews worship. From these sources we were able to explain what similarities and difference they had. We focused on looking through the social sciences lens at how people worshiped in their own way. The class really found it interesting that humanists don’t have a specific place to worship but that they find anywhere in nature the best place. They were amazed at what some religious places looked like on the inside from their local area.

Year 5 Clarinet ‘No Problem’

Year 5 have been working really hard in music today and have been learning how to play the song ‘No problem’. The focus on the song was using the correct form and note playing of the note G making sure to hold the note for the correct length of time.

Year 6 Aspire Trip

Yesterday, our Year 6’s went to a Aspire( a place to practice and enjoy gymnastics). During the day, these students learned to do multiple different tricks and use a variety of different equipment while also having an abundance of fun. The children also learned how to stay safe when do these fun tricks. Everybody had the time of their lives and would have loved to stay longer if they could. Everybody wishes they could go again some day.

Wilberforce House Sports Day

Although Blues didn’t win on sports day we had a superb time throughout the day. We were the best we could be and really tried hard in all events! We enjoyed cheering our teammates on in their races and had a fantastic team spirit!

Year 6 Production

In Year 6, the children have been working very hard on their production, The Amazing Adventures Of Super-Stan. They love this piece and have been putting a lot of effort into acting out their lines, choreographing dances to the different songs and making sure they are being the best they can be. Some of the children have even been practising in their playtimes and lunchtimes to make sure they know most or maybe all of their lines off by heart and don’t need to worry about saying something wrong in rehearsals. They have been amazing with handling the needed props at the right time and loved helping to make them. Everyone who wanted a specific role auditioned for the role they wanted and was given a role they suited best which they were very happy about. The production will be a very funny, comical show which has many jokes in. The children can’t wait to show this to the parents and to the school.

Sincerely,

The DL Team ( Digital Leaders Team)

Year 6 Sponsored Book Bounce

Yesterday, it was Year 6’s time on the sponsored book bounce, run by the PTA. Everyone enjoyed this time and wish it can come back again. We all loved how fun it was and all wanted another turn on there. Everyone was breathless after their turn and are grateful for the PTA bringing something as exciting as this into school for the children to enjoy.

Sincerely,

The DL Team (Digital Leaders Team)
