Safer Internet Day

This morning we enjoyed an assembly with Mrs Yardley exploring how to keep ourselves safer online.

This afternoon, we worked hard to design posters to show what we know as well as learning the story of the pop up gremlins and the very clear online message of ‘stop, close and tell’ for when we see something we do not like or are not sure of.

Dodgeball Tournament

A huge well done to Tyler, who enjoyed going to Sirius this evening to play Dodgeball in an inter-school tournament hosted by School Games!

A fun evening was had by all with some excellent dodgeball being played. The teams demonstrated team work, honesty and perseverance!

Cooking Lessons

With the upcoming Shrove Tuesday celebration, we wanted to learn how to make pancakes today. We learned how to use digital scales to measure, how to crack eggs and how to create a smooth batter.

We learned how to cook the pancakes and even had a go at flipping them which was great fun. Frankie was the flipping King in our class!!

Preston may have put a little too much lemon on his pancake! Super sour!

The chocolate spread pancake was the favourite amongst our little chefs!

This Week…

We have been working hard in Maths and English lessons so that we can choose reward time playing with the new magnetic darts set and having fun with maths.

We went for a local walk and enjoyed a huge game of hide and seek!

We have been working hard in Maths, calculating with money..

and multiplying with the column method.

Great work everybody!

Mario Pizza in this weeks cookery class!

This week we channeled our inner Mario and Luigi to cook some fabulous pitta pizzas.

We mixed passat with olive oil, oregano  and basil to form a tasty base which we spread across our pitta breads which we then sprinkled with cheese. Next, we chopped peppers, tomatoes and pepperoni to create yummy toppings. We popped these in the oven at 180 degrees for just under fifteen minutes to cook.

We even had time to wash up all of our equipment while we waited for the pizzas to cook.

The pitta pizzas were a hit! We loved them!

A huge thumbs up from everybody! Great work team!

Maybe you could try this at home too?

Friday Fun!

We didn’t take many photographs on Friday as we were too busy running around, playing hide and seek and tig at the park. We enjoyed the sun on our faces and a bit if fresh air after working hard in class all week. Tyler really impressed the teachers as we listened to him coaching Daryl on how to get himself going on the swing… withTyler’s encouragement and great tuition, he was soon flying high!

Cookery School

This afternoon, we enjoyed preparing and cooking a soup. We learned how to peel carrots and chopped them into small pieces, working as a team to follow the recipe.

The soup smelt delicious as it was cooking, we are looking forward to trying it with a big slice of fresh bread!

The taste Test…

The Verdict …

Community Visit to The Milk Well

Our visit today took us to The Milk Well at Bellfield Farm. This dairy farm has a really cool machine that dispenses fresh milk and we voted to buy biscuit milk and strawberry milk which we brought back to school and enjoyed tasting!

We loved seeing the cows at this working farm and we got to have a sneaky peek at the beautiful calves in the barn that were only born before Christmas! We met the farmer who works on and owns the farm and had a go at milking a cow using the cow model. George made us all laugh by declaring “Urgh! Is that where milk comes from? I am never drinking milk again!” He forgot this though when he was drinking the delicious milk shake!

Cookery Show

This afternoon we watched a demonstration on how to make a sandwich.

We then worked in pairs to write, make and film  a cookery show which we had fun presenting!

The commentaries were great, we have lots of budding YouTubers in our class as well as some tasty sandwich makers!
