YEAR 3 P.E: HEALTH AND WELLBEING – MIDFULNESS – YOGA

Year 3 have taken on a Mindful approach to our Yoga sessions with Mrs Cobby this Spring term.

The children have revisited, built-upon and perfected many of the Yoga poses we have practiced in previous year groups, as well as practicing some new ones…here are just a few:

The children really enjoyed ‘Dance Yoga’ too whereupon when the music stopped they had to strike a pose with a suggested letter of the alphabet!

We have also practiced our Mindful Breathing by practicing our ‘Box-Breathing’ skills alongside our ‘Havening Touch’ and ‘Shark Breath’ techniques, which are all relaxation techniques that aim to calm both our bodies and our minds. To end each session, the children adopted the ‘Lotus’ position whilst listening to the calmful, reverberating sound of the ‘singing bowl’.
