At Christopher Pickering we acknowledge the impact music has on all of our lives and believe that as part of providing a high quality musical education, pupils must be provided the opportunity to be inspired by professional musicians in a wide range of musical genres. We believe that we provide the children with the opportunities to listen to, review and evaluate music across a range of historical periods, genres, styles and traditions, including the works of the great composers and musicians.

Every year staff and children come together to perform our very own video, we listen to the songs, learn the words and create dances and actions to go with it. We always have lots of fun and love doing them! These are some of our videos below from over the years!

We are always very lucky to have a very talented children in our Year 6 cohorts. Normally we carry out live performances to the school and to our parents, carers and families but because of COVID restrictions we were unable to in 2021 so had the whole thing filmed.

We missed all of our whole school assemblies during the lockdowns and when working in bubbles so to celebrate Christmas in 2020, every class performed a song so that we could all see everyone singing!
