¡Once! (Eleven!)
Stand in a circle. Each player takes it in turn to say up to 3 sequential numbers (in Spanish!). The player who has to say “once” (on-thay) is out.
For example:
Player 1: uno, dos, tres
Player 2: cuatro, cinco
Player 3: sies, siete, ocho
Player 4: nueve, diez
Player 5: ¡once!
Los numeros:
Can you sing along to Basho and friends?
¡Lotto! (Bingo!)
This works just like bingo in English. Create a bingo card with 6 numbers on from 1 to 20. One person is the bingo caller and calls out numbers in Spanish. The first person to have all 6 of their numbers called shouts “¡Lotto!” to claim their prize.
Matemáticas Rápidas (Quick Maths)
Fire some quick addition and subtraction questions at a friend. Can you ask in Spanish and they respond in Spanish?
____ más ____? (______ more/add_____)
____ menos ____? (_____ less/subtract____)
Son/es_____ (equals ____)
Remember: son = plural (an answer greater than 1). Es = singular (an answer of 1 or 0).
For example:
Person 1: Cinco más tres.
Person 2: Son ocho.
Person 1: Siete menos seis.
Person 2: Es uno.
Me llamo Fred (My name is Fred)
One player is chosen to be “El detective” (The detective). They must leave the room whilst someone is chosen to be “Fred”. Everyone else will use their own name. When El detective returns, they have a set number of guesses to find out who Fred is. They move around the room asking, “¿Cómo te llamas?” (What is your name?). When asked, players respond, “Me llamo…” (My name is…) followed by their name. If El detective finds Fred, they greet them by saying, “¡Mucho gusto!” (Nice to meet you!). El detective then leaves the room and the game continues. If El detective doesn’t find Fred, Fred becomes El detective.
