Gladioli Experiment

The children in year 4 have been investigating the effect of changing the conditions needed for a gladioli bulb to grow. They had previously learnt about the basic conditions needed for plant growth; food, light and water so decided to experiment with the soil type and amount, nutrient type and frequency of watering. They found that the bulb grew tallest when it had been covered in a good layer of soil, watered regularly and had had bone meal added to the soil. They were quite surprised at how tall each plant grew!IMG_7678
