BOYS WIN 7-ASIDE FOOTBALL QUALIFIERS

Tonight our boys got their football season underway by winning the Hull Active Schools 7-aside football qualifiers. The boys played exceptionally well, winning all of their group games without conceding a goal. In the final game, an early goal eventually led to extra-time. With no-goals scored, penalties followed.

Top-scorer Alfie M settled the boys down by scoring the first penalty and things got even better when star keeper Matthew Southwick saved the next two shots. A few wide shots and post collisions followed, but CP were the eventual winners and go on to the Grand Finals on December 1st.

This was the first outing for captain Harry Maskell, who worked hard in the middle and partnered up with cousin  Alfie; enabling to score an incredible amount of goals!

Well done boys.

Y56 Intra-House Cross Country: Wilberforce win!

Today was our annual intra-house cross country competition. Like other years, the stakes were high as children were not only competing to help their house win, but to earn a place on the team representing the school at the Level 2 inter-school competition in two weeks.

Both races were fantastic to watch and every runner showed great determination and self-belief. The winner of the girls race was Tamzin L and the boys race was won by Luca A (after and incredible battle with his twin brother Nico).

After both races had finished, the finishing positions for each house were added up, with the lowest aggregate score being the winner. This year’s winners were Wilberforce house, closely followed by Sullivan (Morley 3rd and Johnson 4th).

We really do have some strong runners in Y56 at the moment and fancy our chances at the upcoming inter-school competition.

Well done children!

This half term we are very please to have Callum from Hull FC coming in to deliver rugby coaching to staff and children in Y6. So far the sessions have been going very well and children are really enjoying themselves. We hope this extra focus pays off in the upcoming competitions!

Y4 Sporting Heroes

Year 3 had a great time at the Hull FC Sky Try Inter School Tag Rugby competition. The children demonstrated great teamwork skills and sportsmanship and were a credit to our school.

We are proud to say that we won and would like to congratulate all the other schools which took part! A huge THANK-YOU to Rich and his team for arranging the event too!

Last night our sporting year got underway with our children making a fantastic start!

The first competition of the Autumn term was the boy’s touch rugby league championships. The children chosen have been working hard in PE lessons and are all currently attending our after school rugby club.

The boys played really well and came up against some tough competition. Losing their semi-final game 1-0 meant the boys went on to win their play-off game and managed to finish an excellent 3rd!

We are very proud of the boys and were thrilled to see them go home with medals from their first competition. Well done!

Ex-pupil wins Hull FC Young Player of the Year

This weekend we were very proud to see our ex-pupil, and sponsored player, Brad Fash awarded Hull FC’s ‘Young Player of the Year’ award. Brad has had a fantastic season, cementing himself into a first team spot and playing well in all of his games.

Well done Brad, we are looking forward to seeing what you can achieve next season.

First day back – first amazing achievement

Here at CP we love sport and love to celebrate our children’s sporting achievements both inside and outside of school. It was great to see that Ella Parker, Y5, has had a busy summer completing her marathon challenge and brought in her certificate and medal to show us – on the very first day!

Huge well done Ella, this must have been very hard indeed!

Keep a look out for Ella’s name in our inter-school Cross Country event on 20th October!
