Even in F1 we love PE. We have been enjoying our dinosaur PE learning how to move like a dinosaur and digging for treasure relays. We also have been learning to throw and catch a bean bag. We also like to go outside on to the year 1/2 MUGA.

Year 5 Bikeability
Year 5 have had a fantastic week with the Bikeability instructors. We’ve had such a wonderful range of achievements and successes, from learning how to ride a bike from scratch, to riding on the road for the first time and even being able to turn right into a side street whilst altering road position and signalling. It has been amazing to see all of the children’s positive attitudes, resilience and new-found confidence in their cycling. Well done Year 5! Miss Jones and Miss Staines are so proud of you!

This evening our girls football got underway with the Hull Active Schools 7-aside qualifying event. This was the first game for many of our new team members but they did not disappoint! The girls played with a real smile on their faces and came away with 2 wins and a draw!
Another special addition to the team this year was our new coach! Emily was our football captain last year and has come back this year to coach our girls in their games. Thank you so much Emily, your a real inspiration and we are very proud of you!

Today, Y56 once again held their annual intra-house cross country competition. The weather was horrible with lashing wind and rain. Nevertheless, everyone who took part completed the course in excellent time.
The top 24 finishers will go on to represent the school in the Hull Active Schools competition next week with our top 6 runners entering the ‘A Race’ and next 18 running the ‘B Race’

This afternoon, Christopher Pickering hosted the first of this year’s HET Sports events: Tag Rugby League. Teams from Adelaide, Maybury and Woodland came along from some fun games of rugby league. Christopher Pickering were the winners but the main focus of the competition was the Sainsbury’s School Games value of ‘Honesty’. After every game, teams rated each other on how honest they were in playing to the rules and being good sports people. The winners of the Honesty award were the children of Maybury Primary School who consistently displayed excellent sportsmanship, obeying and respecting the rules of the game.

Y4 were grateful that there was a break from the rain today so we could complete the next session of our outdoor and adventurous PE unit. We used early orienteering skills with a map of the school to find anagrams hidden around the site. We then used our team work skills to solve some of them but they were “Pretty hard!”

Last night we were invited to a special training evening for all Hull FC Foundation’s partner schools: an evening training with Hull FC’s first team. Lots of Hull’s players were there to host all huge range of fun, but tough activities. Children were put through their paces in a host of different skills. Thanks for an amazing evening – the children really enjoyed themselves!

Last night we won the Active Kids Sports Award for the Most Active School!

CPPS Futsal team left their end of year trip early, at the beach, to make it to their Futsal Final. It probably wasn’t the best preparation for this event but the boys emptied the sand from their shoes and put their kit on and became focused!
Their first game was against Biggin Hill. This game was a draw 4-4 with 2 goals from captain Alfie M and 2 from Lucas F. The boys were disappointed with the draw but played well and certainly gave them the determination they needed.
Game 2 was against Spring Cottage, and the boys came into their own winning 4-2. With 3 goals from Brooklyn and 1 from Alfie.
Game 3 saw them up against Spring Cottage again, this time winning 5-1 with a hat-trick from Captain Aflie and another 2 goals from Lucas.
Game 4 was against Biggin Hill and the boys really showed true grit and determination in their final game. It was a very tense game but the boys came out on top winning 2 -1, with another 2 goals from Alfie. This meant they were overall final winners! Huge congratulations to the boys!
