The Hub

The children were so excited today to see the Meerkats. They watched them jump around and come over to us to see us all.

The park keeper let us inside to look through the big screen.

The park was full of new exciting equipment and Hunter loved it.

He explored all the park and even counted the numbers painted on the floor. He asked for a push on the swing and did good listening and looking.

F2 Pancake Day

We learnt about Shrove Tuesday, and what Christians do on this day.

The talked about Jesus and the time he spent fasting in the desert.

Then we ate pancakes. We chose our own topping and put them on the pancakes.

Some were very tricky to spread.

Most of us enjoyed trying the pancakes

 Some of us did not

After we ate the pancakes we had pancake races in the garden.

This is a 600 year old tradition on Shrove Tuesday.

It’s great fun!

The Hub

Connor had great fun today with our bubble machine. He tried to pop them and enjoyed chasing them around.

All the children danced around and we counted all the ones we popped.

Our machine made us all happy today and we cant wait for it to be back on tomorrow.

Henri Matisse in F2

Today we looked at who Henri Matisse is and his art work. Some of his art work that we looked at were ‘The open window’, ‘Women in a purple coat’ and ‘The goldfish’. Then we focused on his art work called ‘The snail’. Once we discussed them we make some of our own representations of ‘The snail’ as well as creating our own pieces of art work and named them. We cut up and stuck on different shapes and colours to create our art.

Valentines Stay and Play

Love is in the air…

A BIG Thank you to all our parents and carers for again supporting us in a very successful and enjoyable afternoon at our ‘Valentines Stay and Play!‘ What a fabulous afternoon it was! Valentines is more than just a card…it’s a smile to a friend, a hug to someone upset…or an act of kindness to someone who needs it. This week we have loved celebrating acts of kindness and happiness and talking about the things that we love. What better way to show off all of the above by welcoming everyone into our classroom for the afternoon!  We loved getting creative making our very own LOVE potions with petals and citrus fruits! And using the pipettes to squeeze and add ingredients into our perfect concoction of kindness! We had some very creative ‘love bugs’ and amazing Valentines cards and messages! Thank you again for supporting us… until next time!

The Foundation Stage Team

Exploring

The boys had lots of fun today. They even managed to go further into the room and play on the steps. Great progress!

It was lovely to see their confidence grow and to see the boys exploring all the areas. Lots of rocking and jumping. Great exercise.
