Year 2 have been working really hard this week to recognise coins!
We looked at which value coins we have.
Then we looked at which coins we would need to select to pay for items.
We used our knowledge find the correct amounts in lots of different ways.
This week in PE we have been learning and performing a group dance to Katie Perry’s song Firework!
We started by learning some moves as a whole group.
Next, we thought of our own moves in small groups and practised how to perform them in a synchronised way.
Then, we chose the moves we wanted to add to our whole class dance and performed the whole sequence as one big routine.
Well done Year 2!
If anyone has any fruit or veg that is past it’s best and could be donated to our seed extraction and planting session tomorrow we would be very grateful. We also need plastic containers or old plants pots if you have any lying around.

Today, Year 1 had a fantastic time working in teams to create kites as part of their creative session with The Children’s University.
First, we used scraps of material, glue, sellotape and paper to create a kite.
We worked in teams and helped each other. Here are some of our fantastic results!
There was a prize for the top team who worked amazingly and created a super kite!
As a special treat we were also shown a Chinese New Year dragon costume and we got to have a go.
We had a great morning being creative!
