Last week our children attended the Hull Active Schools inter-school cross country championships. These children were selected because they finished in the top 32 in our intra-house races held at school a few weeks ago.
For us, the day comprised of four races: girls B, boys B, girls A and finally boys A. The A races were ran by our top 6 intra-house finishers and they had the chance of qualifying for the county finals!
The results on the day were fantastic in both the B and A races. In the girls A race, Tamzin L finished 5th with Macy P finishing 8th which meant automatic qualification to the county finals. However, this wasn’t our only success. In the boys A race, Harry M, Nico A and Luca A also finished in the top ten (5th, 6th and 7th) meaning we already had five county final qualifications.
The unknown result on the day was the team events. In all races, the first four runners from each school formed that school’s A team, the next four B team and so on. The finishing positions of these runners are added up and compared to other schools. These results often take a week to come in so children had to wait patiently to see if how they had done.
We were not disappointed! CP have won the team event on both the boys and girls A races!! In the B races, CP wont the A, B, C and D races in both the boy and girls!
These are incredible results and we are very proud to be taking two teams to the county finals to represent Hull!
