Year 3 have been looking at light in our first science unit. We discovered that there are many light sources that we use every day including the sun, light bulbs, phones and televisions. We were very surprised to discover that the moon is not a source of light and that it only reflects light from the sun. We decided to see what other materials reflected light and which materials reflected this best. We carried out a fair test on materials including tin foil, card and fabric.

We discovered that the most reflective materials had a smooth surface and that the light reflected brightest from these types of materials.
