This week in F2…

Welcome to the Summer term!

This week in F2, we have started our story, Handa’s Surprise.

This is a story about a Kenyan girl called Handa who visits her friend, Akeyo, with a basket full of seven different fruits as gifts. Along the way, Handa thinks which fruit Akeyo will like the best, however, each time Handa thinks about a certain fruit an animal pops along and takes that fruit.

In literacy we told the story using our signifiers, picture sequenced it, and drew our story maps and added sentences to it too.

During our topic lesson, we thought about the fruits from the story and then about all the other fruits we know, including our favourites.  Then we designed, drew and labeled our own fruit cocktail, which we’ll be making next week, we can’t wait!

Thank you for your 50p contribution each week, which enables us to carry out these fun learning activities.

In maths we have continued and extended our learning of sharing and grouping.

On Wednesday we all put on our smartest and most sparkly clothes and enjoy our very own disco!

We danced and sang along to all our favourite songs, and even enjoyed a bag of sweets and juice at the end… we were tied out from all our fabulous dance moves.

We have also been looking at and naming farm animals this week, in preparation for our school trip on Wednesday 12th June. Please remember to dress your child suitably for the weather and to bring a packed lunch.
