This week in F2, we have started our story, The Enormous Turnip. In literacy we have been acting out the story using our signifiers, drawing our story maps and adding sentences to it too. We think of a sentence together, hold it in our head, count on our fingers how many words are in it and then use our Fred Fingers to help spell the words. We remember that a sentence must always have a capital letter, finger spaces and a full stop.
In maths, we have had a closer look at shapes. We looked at similarities and differences between shapes, we learnt that even if we rotate a shape, it remains the same shape and then we manipulated shapes to make patterns and pictures.
On Tuesday we had our Big Build Stay and Play where we had great fun building bridges… we used Lego, rolled up newspaper, junk modelling, wooden and foam bricks… it was lovely to see our children working together with their grown-up and some amazing constructions were made. A big thank you to those that were able to join us.
As always, we have spent lots of time learning and discovering outdoors…the weather has been so sunny, we have loved being able to go out without our coats on. Please remember to send your child with a sun hat, water bottle and apply sunscreen at home.
We’ve splashed in the water, while creating waterways to fill buckets, built the best sandcastles decorated with sparkly jewels and made delicious picnic feasts and soups in our mud kitchen.
