The Three Billy Goat’s Gruff!

What a fabulous morning F2 had bringing their traditional tale to life!!!

We have been learning the story of ‘The Three Billy Goat’s Gruff’ the past few weeks and learning how to retell the story using our story signifiers and props!

Today we performed the story to each other, dressing up and acting out the main events and problems that occur.

WE loved seeing Mrs Buss dress up as a troll and trying to cross the bridge to the sweet green grass! This inspired us to act out the story on our own in groups outside, using traditional tale and story language! We had some great troll voices and impressions and enjoyed making sturdy bridges to safely guide the goats across!

This activity allowed the children opportunities to play and act out their literacy, developing oracy and language skills. It allowed children opportunities for modelling language, turn taking, sharing and building confidence…

We love the photos below capturing that fun, love, excitement and love for learning and reading!
