During our PE lessons over the past 4 weeks, the children of Y5MEA have taken part in a dance unit ‘The Circus’. Within this unit, we have focused on circus acts in the 1850s.
This week, the children worked in groups to create their own routine incorporating a ringmaster. The role of the ringmaster is to introduce the acts in a circus show and guide the audience through the experience, directing their attention to the various areas of the circus, helping to link the acts together. Whilst including a ringmaster, the children also had to become different acts of the circus, including: tightrope walker, strongman, freaks, juggler and acrobats. The children confidently performed their routines, putting their skills into practice.
Y5MEA are really enjoying their PE lessons!
