This week in our Art lesson, year 5 enhanced their skills of ‘etching’.
Firstly, the children choose their preferred Celtic symbol from a previous art lesson, they then etched their design onto a polystyrene tile to create an imprint. After this, the children chose a choice of colour from the painting ink (they loved this bit!) and placed their tile in the painting ink. Using a roller to embed the colour, the children carefully removed their tile to reveal the etched Celtic symbol. Finally, their tiles were placed onto a page in art books, making their final print.
Here are some snapshots of the different stages of the lesson, showing how much fun the children in Y5MEA had!
