Autumn Week 2 – 16th September 2024

Monday

As Scientists, we were exploring the benefits of eating a balanced diet as we learned about nutrition and the five food groups.

Tuesday

During our English lessons we were looking at ‘The power of Three’, a feature that authors use to help exaggerate a point and we explored how it was used in our story ‘Avocado Baby’. We then had a go at writing our own fantastic sentences!

Wednesday

We travelled across the Humber Bridge into Lincolnshire to visit Waters Edge Country Park where we explored UK wildlife and habitats. We loved watching the swans and spotted many beautiful dragonflies during our a walk through the grounds in the glorious sunshine.

Thursday

Today we made an important decision, as we exercised our right to democracy by voting for our School House captains! Good luck to all of the Y6 candidates… we look forward to finding out the results.

Friday

As Harvest approaches, we learned about what goes into making a loaf of bread. We considered the sources of the ingredients and the manufacturing process. We reflected on food waste as part of our learning about sustainability for the future.
