Seven-aside football finals

On Friday, our Y56 seven-aside football team attended the HSFA finals. This was an immensely difficult competitions. Over 300 schools entered, and on this night the top ten teams were there. This included three teams from Hull: Christopher Pickering, Victoria Dock and Eastfield.

It was a difficult night for our boys. The first half of the first game was closely contested but Kirkella eventually took a 2-0 victory. Our second game against Lyall Marsden was even harder but the boys worked hard and made improvements. Sadly, this match finished 4-0. In the final group game, our boys scored their first goals courtesy of Alfie M and Ewan Millet, and went on to win the game. Unfortunately it was too little, too late; our team didn’t progress to the semi finals.

This was a very hard lesson for our team to learn having found goal scoring easy in previous competition. But with the Y6 and Y5 five-aside competitions looming, more goals are sure to follow. Chin up and well done!

Mr. Arridge reading results: 3rd in our group.
