In Music this week, Y1 listened to ‘Hey You!’.

The children used their listening skills to find the ‘pulse’ of the song. Then they first clapped along and then sang. They all listened to see what instruments they could hear, identified the intro, verse, chorus and hook and they learnt that the style of music was ‘old school hip hop’.  All of the class loved this style of music, Penny said it “made her body move” and Ivan thought it sounded “funky”.

The children were all excited to play the glockenspiel along to the music, carefully following the beat.
