This evening our after school rugby club were invited to go and train with some Hull FC players and coaches at their Youth Performance Centre on Pickering Road. These children have worked hard in all weathers to play a game they love, alongside Brad from Hull FC. This was Brad’s final session of the term and it was a fantastic treat.
We started with a quick brief in the centre’s common room before moving into the sports hall to take part in a number of games and activities. One activity was on the tackle bags with Sika Manu (first team player, Challenge Cup winner, World Cup winner & Tongan Captain) and Josh Bowden (first team player and double Challenge Cup winner). The children loved this activity and enjoyed running hard against some talented professional players.
This was followed by a quick question and answer session with the players. Finally, our children were all given an FC water bottle and other merchandise which the players signed.
This was a very special event and created some fantastic memories for our children. Huge thanks to Brad, Richard, Sam and all other other guys from the FC Foundation for inviting us along!
