Girls Qualify for 5 a side finals!

Our girl’s football team continued to build on their success tonight when they qualified for the Hull Active Schools 5 a side finals.

Tonight was the qualifying event for the finals next year meaning they needed to finish top of their group. The start of the competition didn’t go so well. The girls were winning 1-0 with 60 seconds on the clock but managed to concede 2 goals! However, they bounced back from this self-inflicted defeat to beat Bricknell and incredible 8-2. Their final game was against Francis Askew. This was an brilliant game of football played in ever-worsening conditions. The score was close throughout but our girls managed to edge out a 4-2 victory.

This put CPPS and Francis Askew on equal points, but the 8 goals scored in the previous game saved the girls and they finished top of their group on goal difference!

A huge well done to these girls who are improving game on game. Special mentions to keeper Melody T who was exceptional and captain Emily L who kept the team motivated, was solid at the back and scored this amazing goal.

Good luck in the finals!
