Northern Ballet Workshop with Year 2

As part of Hull City of Culture, Northern Ballet visited Year 2 for the morning. The workshop focused on colour. The children had to paint the room their favourite colour through their dance moves. They then thought about how colours make you feel and moved around the room to express this!

We had a brilliant time!

Y3/4 and 5/6 Athletics competition

On Tuesday the 6th of June Y3/4 and 5/6 took part in an amazing athletics competition, we threw a vortex, had a standing long jump, a 50 meter sprint and a 400 meter relay race. We sat in the grandstand at Costello stadium and we were against a lot of different schools. We were outside and inside throughout the day even though it rained on us! We were inside for the vortex throw and the standing long jump, we were outside for the 50 meter sprint and 400 meter relay. We had our lunch in the hall, we liked everything and we think we did well! In the vortex throw if we hit the curtain we got 40 dojos and if it bounced and hit the curtain we got 15 dojos, unfortunately we didn’t quite hit it but we got very close! We had lots of fun at Costello and hope we get through to the final!

Mrs Sanford and Mr Morgan were extremely impressed with year 56 this afternoon in PE. The children mastered standing triple jump, standing long jump and vertical jump. Thank you to Chantelle, Lynden and Tylah for demonstrating their skills in the following videos so that we could peer assess. Well done!

Full results:2016 2017 Year 3 and 4 Hull School Games Primary Boccia Championships Results

On Monday, eight Y34s took part in the Hull School Games Boccia Championships. Boccia a highly competitive paralympic sport very similar to french boules. This was the first time the children had ever played this game and the first time they have ever represented the school in competitive sport.

Amazingly, out of 23 teams, our team finished 1st and 3rd! The children were VERY excited to find out they have won and it was fantastic to see them having such an enjoyable times.

A huge well done children – lets see what the Y56 competition brings next year!
