Purple Mash up and running!

Hi all,

You should have all received an email asking you to verify your email address for your Purple Mash account.

All the children are now on the system too.

Once you have shared your class log on details, with your children, you can set work for them from your own accounts (you can set English, Maths, Science, Topic and Art work too).

Could I also ask that you teach the crash course in coding to your class over the next few weeks. I know my children have really struggled getting to grips with the format of the program.

Many Thanks

Science week

Dear all,

I will be doing an assembly at the usual time on Monday morning to introduce science week. Please could everyone do their best to tweet and blog throughout the week. I will try to pop in to a few lessons and take some photos as well.

Just a reminder of what was discussed in the science staff meeting. It was agreed that all year groups would carry out their usual science lesson for the week with at least one additional lesson/activity which does not necessarily need to be linked to the unit of work (i.e. it can be a fun/wow activity).

I’m attaching the timetable from the staff meeting as a reminder of what you said you would be doing. Some year groups aren’t on it as I know you were going to go away and discuss.

Hope you have a good week.

Many thanks

Debbie

Internet Safety Questionnaire

Just a quick reminder, please can I have these back by Friday.

Thank you to all the classes who have handed them back to me x

Photographs and Website

Please could all subject leaders try to take photographs of children participating in activities relating to it!

I am just adding things to the website and I have noticed a shortage of quality and recent pictures.

Please (anyone) save any curriculum related good photographs into curriculum 2019-2020 – Curriculum area (science) – Photographs (If the folder photographs is not there then please can you create one).

Thanks Terrie x

School council

Internet Safety Day

Hi all,
As mentioned previously, next Tuesday (11th) is Internet Safety day, and the theme this year is ‘Together for a better internet.’ The key message is:

Empowering young people to explore identity online and opening up discussions about how the internet shapes the way that they think of themselves and others. It focuses on what creates our identity online – such as the things we share with each other, how others perceive us and interact with us.

Please could all classes do something based on this on Tuesday and once you have completed an activity with your class, please could you tweet or blog them!

Due to the tigers trust penalty shootout, taking place in the hall on the day, please could all phases deliver an assembly on internet safety. Josh and I are using the one from the website: https://www.saferinternet.org.uk/safer-internet-day/2020.

Thank you
Amy and Josh

Child Mental Health Week

Next week is Child Mental Health Week. The theme this year is ‘Find your brave’. Please could all classes do something based on this throughout the week. There are a few activity ideas on the website below. In Year 5 we are going to discuss what bravery is, how being brave makes us feel, what challenges may get in the way of being brave and brave things that we have done, then we’re going to complete the This Is Me activity that the website suggests. Once you have completed an activity with your class, please could you tweet or blog (tag the PSHE page).

Below is the link to the page with the activity ideas on:
https://www.childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk/schools-and-youth-groups/

If you’ve got any questions, feel free to email me or come and find me.

Thank you

Jess x
